Detroit's Premium Cat Cafe
Black Cat Beanery believes one simple truth : providing the best possible experience for both our feline residents and our human guests will allow us to find forever homes for more cats.
Every aspect of the cafe prioritizes quality over quantity. Our shelter (operated by our non-profit organization Black Cat Society) houses no more than 15 cats at a time, to maximize their socialization and personalized care. At the same time, we limit the number of Cat Room visitors to 15 per hour to ensure there is not more than one person per cat -
this results in more relaxed, personal interactions between our cats and guests.

A Clean, Caring, and Comfortable Environment :

24/7/365 circulation of ambient air through hospital-grade filtration

additional HEPA filters in the cafe and Cat Room area

multiple Litter Robot automated litter boxes for increased hygiene

Bluetooth-enabled smart water fountains to allow real-time monitoring of hydration

Continuous cloud-based camera recording of all areas to monitor cat and visitor safety

a dedicated on-call veterinarian and full veterinary staff available for the cats at all times
-
a cat-to-staff ratio of less than 2:1 to maximize the trust and comfort of the cats, and quickly identify physical or behavioral changes
* the Cat Room is limited to 15 visitors at one time. We can only guarantee availability with an online booking, but walk-ins are always welcome if we have capacity. Visits longer than one hour may be possible if we are not at capacity.
